Usage

You can select meditations from the Table of Contents, also accessible from the drop-down menu ('3 bar icon' on the top-left of each page). This menu also has a list of key-words ('Labels' in Blogger parlance) - clicking a word will display all meditations tagged with that word.

Origins

The meditations collected in this BLOG were originally written for the weekly newsletter of a local Church in Melbourne, Australia. Whilst most are original works, some are inspirational quotations from my readings of the time.
Whilst I have no specific theological training, God has used me in various church and outreach ministries over the years. Thus the writings here-in are views through the “Window on the Soul” of a common fellow journey-man on "The Road Less Travelled", searching the mind of God and constantly seeking His will in my life.

Some of the writings include references to specific events and activities in that Church. These have been deliberately kept, in order to also allow glimpses of the soul of a local suburban Church. Some refer to dated events, but the issues involved are timeless.

I pray that a wider readership audience will gain as much inspiration and encouragement from these meditations, as have the authors and the Church readership over the years.

Most pieces include multiple Bible references, allowing them to be used as Daily or Weekly study material. Most Bible references are not quoted in full, but rather only a para-phrase or two, sometimes from multiple translations, is given, initially to conserve space, but also to entice the reader to go to The Word itself - all references are linked to on-line Bible translations, mostly NIV, usually through the Bible Gateway web-site, which at a single click gives access to over 50 alternative translations of a verse. Please send a comment if you find a broken link - manually setting up 700-800 links is arduous and error-prone.

Whilst writing a weekly column over a number of years has at times been a chore, with full time professional and family commitments, mostly it has been quite inspiring and humbling, as I have received feedback from situations and places I never dreamed of at writing (eg. "How did you know I needed that?" - well I personally didn't). I can only give God the glory and thanks. Praise Him.
